Pasadena Transit Connects Caltech Riders with High-Tech Convenience

Pasadena Transit, formerly known as the Pasadena Area Rapid Transit System (ARTS), will let you ride free on any of the Pasadena Transit buses during the month of March! With the opening of the Foothill Gold Line Extension on March 5th, Pasadena Transit looks forward to connecting even more passengers to destinations within Pasadena, including Caltech.  Pasadena Transit is offering a free Try Transit pass during the month of March for Caltech faculty, staff and students to try Pasadena Transit free of charge!

If you already have a TAP card, all you need to do is visit the Caltech Bookstore after February 26, 2016 to load a Try Transit pass onto the card. If you don’t have a TAP card yet, contact Kristina Valenzuela at Kristina.Valenzuela@caltech.edu or at 626-395-4729 to get a TAP card with your free pass loaded onto it after February 26, 2016. Once you have the pass, all you need to do is TAP your card upon boarding a Pasadena Transit bus and enjoy the ride. The Try Transit pass is only valid on Pasadena Transit buses. For use on the Gold Line or other transit services, be sure to load the appropriate fare media or stored value.

In addition to the new look and name, the system is now also equipped with new technology that lets you track the real time arrival of Pasadena Transit buses, even while you are on the Gold Line.  You can access the real time arrival information of the buses by calling 511 or via web and mobile platforms at www.pasadenatransit.net, Google Transit and www.Go511.com. Pasadena Transit currently offers six routes that provide service throughout the City of Pasadena, including Route 10 which directly serves Caltech along Del Mar Blvd. and connects to the Gold Line Allen Station. Route and schedule information can be found at www.pasadenatransit.net
